INSTI Multiplex HIV-1/2 Syphilis Antibody Test

The INSTI Multiplex HIV-1/2 Syphilis Antibody Test is a rapid diagnostic test for the detection of antibodies to HIV-1, HIV-2 and Treponema pallidum (syphilis). The test uses flow-through immunoassay technology and provides a result in under one minute.

The test is designed for use by healthcare professionals in clinics, laboratories, emergency departments and other point-of-care settings. It is not approved for self-testing and is not intended for donor screening.

Use

The INSTI Multiplex HIV-1/2 Syphilis Antibody Test is a rapid, qualitative in vitro immunoassay for the detection of antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1 (HIV-1), type 2 (HIV-2) and Treponema pallidum.

The test can be used with the following sample types:

Interpretation of Results

  • Non-reactive: Only one blue control dot appears.
  • Reactive: Two or three blue dots appear – one control dot and one or two test dots.
  • Invalid: If the control dot does not appear, or if the test cannot otherwise be read correctly.
  • Indeterminate: A faint ring-shaped background in the test area should not be interpreted as positive and requires follow-up laboratory testing.

A reactive or indeterminate result is considered preliminary and must be confirmed by laboratory testing.

Chlamydiatest instructions

1a) (woman)

Carefully insert the swab further into the cervix, to the point where you can hardly see the tip of the swab. This is to ensure that you get the cells where the chlamydia bacteria are most often found. Turn the cotton swab around a whole lap either with or counterclockwise, let it sit still for 15 seconds, and then gently remove again. Try to avoid contamination from vaginal cells or mucus / secretion outside the vagina.

1b) (man)

Before the podium approx. 2-4 cm into the urethra. Turn the podium 360 degrees around (clockwise or counterclockwise), leave it in the urethra for 10 seconds, then pull it out of the urethra.

2.

Keep reagent bottle 1 vertically and drip 6 drops of the liquid into the extraction pipe. Place the podium in the tube. Press each side of the extraction pipe so that the podium is trapped between the two sides of the extraction pipe. Now turn the podium around 15 times. Leave the tube for 2 minutes.


3.

Keep reagent bottle 2 vertical and drizzle 7 drops of the liquid into the extraction pipe. Place the podium in the tube. Press each side of the extraction pipe so that the podium is trapped between the two sides of the extraction pipe. Now turn the podium around 15 times. Leave the tube for 1 minute.


4.

Press the podium against the side of the tube and pull it out as you squeeze the pipe. Then let
much fluid as possible stay in the tube.


5.

Put the pipettes tip on top of the extraction tube.


6.

Drizzle 3 whole drops of the liquid into the sample well (S) on the test cassette and read the result after 10 minutes. Do not read results after 30 minutes.

Gonoretest Instructions:

Press each side of the extraction pipe so that the podium is trapped between the two sides of the extraction pipe. Now turn the podium around 15 times. Leave the tube for 1 minute.

Press the podium against the side of the tube and pull it out as you squeeze the pipe. Then let
much fluid as possible stay in the tube.


5.

Put the pipettes tip on top of the extraction tube.


6.
